Winter and summer activities in Chamonix Mont-Blanc with a high-mountain guide. How can one talk about Chamonix without mentioning its history? Chamonix is the cradle of mountaineering, with the conquest of the summit of Mont Blanc in 1786 by Jacques Balmat and Dr. Paccard, and the creation of the first guides' company in 1821. It wasn't until 1893 that skiing was brought from Norway to Chamonix by Joseph Couttet. Michel Payot popularized this new mode of transport starting in 1902. He is credited with the first crossing of the Col du Géant with Joseph Ravanel and other companions that same winter of 1902... the first crossing of the Vallée Blanche on skis, in a way!

Everything accelerated after the 1924 Winter Olympics and with the construction of ski lifts: the Brévent cable car in 1930 and numerous others, the Aiguille du Midi cable car in 1955 which gave skiers from all over the world access to the Vallée Blanche, Grands Montets in 1963, and so on. There's no doubt that this history has made Chamonix one of the legendary towns of mountain tourism. What could be more natural when it's possible to connect the center of Chamonix to the most beautiful high-mountain landscapes in Europe in just a few minutes? Even today, Chamonix retains this aura of bygone eras, and even if the glaciers are gradually disappearing and snow is becoming scarcer, forcing mountaineers and skiers to adapt, the pleasure of going to the mountains in the footsteps of the pioneers remains the same.

Winter activities: off-piste skiing, ski touring, splitboarding, winter mountaineering and ski mountaineering, snowshoeing, ice climbing. Summer activities: rock climbing, via ferrata, glacier hiking and mountaineering, high-altitude climbing.
